what we do at flint city t-shirts
We can create custom designs for our clients to have embroidered on pretty much any material. We are always working to test new garments and fabrics to ensure the best quality product for our clients. Pretty much, if we can fit our hoop on it, we can embroider it!
WHAT IS embroidery?
Embroidery is the handicraft of decorating fabric or other materials with needle and thread or yarn. Embroidery is most often used on caps, hats, coats, blankets, dress shirts, denim, stockings, and golf shirts. Embroidery is available with a wide variety of thread or yarn color.
Most modern embroidery machines are computer controlled and specifically engineered for embroidery. Industrial and commercial embroidery machines and combination sewing-embroidery machines have a hooping or framing system that holds the framed area of fabric taut under the sewing needle and moves it automatically to create a design from a pre-programmed digital embroidery pattern.
HOW CUSTOM embroidery ORDERS ARE PRICED
Custom embroidery orders depend on two variables for pricing: if the artwork needs to be digitized and the stitch-count needed to embroider the design.
Embroidery is a bit more technically challenging than screening due to inputing the artwork to our embroidery machine. In some instances, things like standard fonts (Helvetica, Brush Script, etc) can be used without any digitizing. Other instances including custom logos and images will need to be digitized.
If your artwork needs to be digitized, there is a one-time digitizing fee. The minimum (and fairly standard) digitizing fee is $50, but could be higher depending on size and complexity. After it's digitized, we will be set for embroidering that design without anymore fees like that.
After the artwork is digitized and sized correctly, we are able to get the stitch-count needed for your design. That count is used for the base of your per piece price.
Our standard pricing is $1 per 1k stitches. For example, an individual name on something like a polo or jacket would be about 5k stitches equaling $5 per piece to embroider.
embroidery turnaround time
Embroidery is a bit of a longer process then screen printing when it comes to production. The standard turnaround time for us to get an embroidery job finished is about 2 weeks. The amount of time involved has a lot of variables, so make sure and contact us to get information regarding a more accurate turnaround time.
